Diego DE LEO Diego De Leo is Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention at Griffith University. The Institute is also a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre in Suicide Research and Training, as well as the Commonwealth-appointed National Centre of Excellence in Suicide Prevention. Prof De Leo holds a Doctor of Science title for his research activities on suicidology and psychogeriatrics, and a PHD degree in social and behavioural sciences. He has been a President of both the International Association for Suicide Prevention (“IASP”) and the International Academy for Suicide Research (“IASR”). He is a member of the Australian Suicide Prevention Advisory Council and is Chair of the Advisory Committee on Data Quality and Evaluation. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Crisis (Germany), Associate Editor of BMC Public Health (UK), and Regional Editor of Behavioral Medicine (USA), and sits in the editorial board of several international journals.
